Fareham Town Youth FC are pleased to announce that Rees Pake and Alex Walker have been appointed as Football Development Officers. This is a newly created role which covers areas such as player coaching and coach education and they will oversee our 30 youth teams from our Foundation (U6s) up to U18s. They will also focus on the transition from youth football to open age football where we already have a pathway to the senior section but also plans to create a Ladies team in the future for our growing girls teams to aspire to.
Rees Pake brought girls football to Fareham just over 2 seasons ago and was girls football co-ordinator before taking on this new role. This season he will manage the U15 girls team.
About his appointment, Rees said ‘I am really excited with the challenge in the new role of Football Development Officer with the youth section and as part of the role we would like to help with the players development into the senior sides. Forging closer links with the first team and reserves and when the time comes the women’s senior team.
Alex, who is entering his second season at the club and will manage the U8s, said ‘I’m hugely excited to be able to take on the Football Development Officer role at Fareham Town Youth along with Rees Pake and hopefully play a significant part in taking the club to the next level’.
